Exhausts
Your exhaust can become worn over time and not perform like it should. Your exhaust is subject to high temperatures, it expands and contracts as it heats up and cools down. After a long period of time those temperature changes can wear the exhaust and lead to cracks.
Cracks can appear causing leaks which will damage surrounding components over time due to the fumes.
If the car's exhaust manifold is cracked, you will notice an increase in the fuel consumption, a loss of vehicle power or more noise coming from the engine.
A hole in the exhaust near the engine can cause hot gases to leak out and blow straight onto other components causing heat damage and increasing the risk of fire.
In most cases the cracks are only minor and can be fixed simply by welding. If the cracks or damage is too much to be welded then it might mean you vehicle will need a new exhaust manifold. Our mechanics can determine what repairs or work your vehicle needs and advise you on the best route to take.
